LEUNG Bo-kun, James

LEUNG Bo-kun had been the Director of Music of the HKPB since 2010. He led the HKPB to perform in many significant events, including the 10th Zurich Police Music Festival 2010, the Shanghai Expo, the 48th "Musikchau der Nationen" at Bremen in Germany in 2012 and the Hong Kong International Military Tattoo in celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Establishment of HKSAR performed with the military Bands from USA, Scotland, Turkey, Australia, Russia and PLA Band of China. Before joining the HKPB, he was appointed by the Correctional Services Department as the Bandmaster of the Cape Collinson Marching Band in 1994.

He graduated from the Hong Kong Conservatory of Music and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he received his Bachelor's degree. Positions he previously held included Principal Bassoon of the Macau Sinfonietta, Chairman of the Hong Kong Wind Ensemble Society, Founding Member and Principal Bassoon of Hong Kong Sinfonietta, as well as Conductor for the Student's Concert Programme of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.

He is currently the Chief Music Officer of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
