Cello Masterclass by CHOR Kai-hei

The Awardees Association co-organised two Masterclasses with the Music Office this year with an aim to promote musical knowledge to the community. The first Masterclass was conducted by cellist CHOR Kai-hei on 11 December 2021. Four students played pieces by Bach, Saint-Saƫns and Bruch. Mr CHOR provided guidance on music interpretation and encouraged them to learn more about the stories behind the music works. He also demonstrated some performance techniques and useful practice tips.

CHOR Kai-hei graduated from Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was awarded full scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund and Croucher Foundation for his studies. He is currently a member of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble; and serves as adjunct music faculty at The Education University of Hong Kong, Diocesan Boys' School and Diocesan Girls' Junior School.
