Percussion Masterclass by CHOY Lap-tak

Our Association has arranged for the trainees of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department Music Office a series of instrumental Masterclasses in September and October in 2019. Followed by the Clarinet Masterclass held on 22 September 2019, Percussion Masterclass by Mr CHOY Lap-tak was successfully held on 28 September 2019. Apart from elaborating snare drum techniques with demonstration of various snare drum studies, there were four students from the Music Office receiving coaching from Mr CHOY.

CHOY Lap-tak is currently a tutor in Western Percussion and adviser to the Academy Percussion Ensemble at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. CHOY has been a guest timpani player and percussionist with many professional orchestras such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Macao Orchestra and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.
